This new journey for lighting mainly started after the oil crises of the early 70’s. Do to the crisis the cost of electricity went up and owners of commercial buildings looked at their manages to find a way to reduce the cost. The managers of offices, warehouses and stores started to retrofit their buildings with fluorescent lights, minimizing lighting in area’s of the buildings that seemed to have to much lighting.
